RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - On Friday, May 17, the Rancho Cordova Police Department rewarded around 135 kids from 13 schools in Rancho Cordova with a field trip to Sky High Sports as part of its Adopt-a-School program. Students enjoyed jumping on trampolines, playing and free food. In addition, free bikes and other prizes were given away to the students!

RCPD, as part of neighborhood policing, assigns an officer to every school in Rancho Cordova. The officers visit each school weekly to: get to know students and staff; foster respectful and trustworthy relationships between law enforcement and students; and provide incentives to students who are living the values of their schools.

At the end of the school year, through the RCPD Adopt-a-School program, principals choose 10-15 students who have exemplified the values of the school to receive special recognition. For the second year in a row, students received a free field trip, thanks to local business partners Sky High Sports, Republic Services, Golden State Water, and Walmart in Rancho Cordova.
