RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - For the last 20 years, Aerojet Rocketdyne (previously known as the GenCorp Foundation) has donated to FCUSD activities that focus on STEM, or science, technology, engineering and math - which includes supporting the District’s annual STEM Expo.
Science Lead Teacher Amy Kraft, who organizes the Expo said Aerojet’s donation will be used to help offset the cost of materials and equipment to support student projects, and to provide a specially designed STEM Expo t-shirt to participating students. A portion of the donation will also be used to purchase placement ribbons to award to students at our Dinner with an Expert event on March 19, 2020.
“We value the long standing partnership we have with Aerojet Rocketdyne over the years and the involvement of Aerojet Rocketdyne employees who also serve as volunteer judges to evaluate student projects,” Kraft said.
Aerojet Rocketdyne Community Engagement Manager Sara Minnehan said the organization is “proud to continue to support the STEM Expo as students are challenged to get excited about science and hopefully find a spark that ignites a lifelong path to STEM education.”
Secondary students from all of our middle and high schools are invited to participate in the STEM Expo which will take place on March 5, 2020. Students interested in participating are encouraged to speak to their science teacher for more information, or email Amy Kraft at firstname.lastname@example.org Community Engagement Specialist, email@example.com
