Council Assumes New Roles for Upcoming Year

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Rancho Cordova City Council Members David M. Sander, Ph.D. and Siri Pulipati assumed the roles of mayor and vice mayor, respectively, at the December 6 Rancho Cordova Special City Council meeting, after a unanimous vote by their Council Member colleagues.

David M. Sander, Ph.D. was recently sworn in as president of the National League of Cities as well, bringing the City of Rancho Cordova to the national spotlight.

Incoming Mayor David M. Sander was sworn in by his wife, Dr. Margaret Parsons.

Incoming Vice Mayor Siri Pulipati was sworn in by her husband and two sons. Both she and Mayor Sander will hold the roles of mayor and vice mayor through 2024.

Siri Pulipati was elected to the Rancho Cordova City Council in November 2020. This will be her first time serving as vice mayor.

Following the swearing in ceremony, outgoing Mayor Linda Budge was presented with an engraved plaque by Mayor Sander, who thanked her for “decades of help, support and leadership.”
