SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - The Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Rancho Cordova Area Chamber of Commerce proudly announce that they have jointly been awarded a grant from We Prosper Together for the Greater Sacramento Talent Pipeline Management Manufacturing Collaborative: Digital Tools Initiative.
As the first Chambers in the region to implement Talent Pipeline Management (TPM)—an employer-led framework developed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation—their efforts focus on strengthening workforce development in critical industries. While our region’s manufacturing ranks ninth as an industry, it is an underserved sector requiring immediate attention.
The Chambers launched the Greater Sacramento Talent Pipeline Management Manufacturing Collaborative to address workforce shortages in manufacturing across Sacramento and Placer counties. The Digital Tools Initiative will explore and evaluate digital software tools to enhance workforce accessibility, strengthen employer engagement, and better align education and training with industry needs.
The Initiative’s key focus is supporting the region’s veteran community, recognizing their unique challenges in re-entering the workforce. Over 100,000 veterans live in Sacramento and Placer counties, and manufacturing has emerged as a key industry for veteran employment due to highly transferable skills.
“The Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to be at the forefront of talent pipeline management and economic growth,” said Rana Ghadban, CEO of the Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Thanks to We Prosper Together, this grant will help us drive sustainable manufacturing workforce solutions to benefit the region’s employers, job seekers, and training providers. We look forward to collaborating with our partners to build a more inclusive and resilient regional economy.”
“The Rancho Cordova Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to addressing workforce challenges by leading with innovation and collaboration,” said Diann H. Rogers, President & CEO of the Rancho Cordova Area Chamber of Commerce. “Our veteran community is a pivotal part of our regional economy, and this initiative aims to help veterans transition into high-quality manufacturing careers that build on their expertise and experience. We are grateful to We Prosper Together for recognizing the importance of this work and investing in our vision.”
This grant is part of We Prosper Together’s $5 million investment in 11 transformative initiatives across the Capital Region to advance economic resilience and create high-quality jobs. Spanning a diversity of sectors—including biotech, clean energy, food and agriculture, and precision manufacturing—projects funded in this first round are poised to strengthen key industries, foster innovation, and expand economic opportunities for residents across all eight counties. A second $4 million round of funding is anticipated to be released this year to further advance these regional goals.
“We’re creating a pipeline of transformative projects that address our region's economic challenges, leverage promising industry sectors, and create equitable economic growth,” said Evan Schmidt, CEO of Valley Vision. “This funding is just the beginning. We're excited to continue supporting high-impact projects to help residents earn a living wage and build a more secure future for themselves and their families.”
