RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) – Rancho Cordova Police Department Crime Prevention Specialist Lisa Gerber recently earned the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Professional Designation, an internationally recognized certification focused on crime prevention strategies.

The CPD-CPTED certification is awarded through the National Institute of Crime Prevention and recognizes advanced knowledge in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, commonly known as CPTED. The approach uses environmental and architectural design principles to help deter criminal activity and improve public safety.

According to the Rancho Cordova Police Department, crime prevention remains a key part of its mission to support the city's quality of life and business community.

Gerber completed the Advanced CPTED course before receiving the professional designation. Her certification expands the department's ability to provide residents and business owners with guidance on security measures and crime prevention strategies.

Police officials said Gerber's expertise will serve as a resource for the community through outreach efforts and public events, where residents can learn more about crime prevention and safety practices.
