Rancho Cordova Travel & Tourism (RCTT), the organization that serves as the region’s tourism bureau, has unveiled a marketing campaign directed at Rancho Cordova residents. The campaign, titled: Hometown for the Holidays, gives residents 20 percent off at selected Rancho Cordova hotels for stays from Nov. 15th, 2015 through Jan. 2nd, 2016. Typically, RCTT focuses efforts on out-of-town markets.

“Last year we had requests from residents for special hotel offers for family and friends over the holidays,” said Lisa Jones, chairperson of Rancho Cordova Travel & Tourism. “So, this year we created a special deal exclusively for residents’ family and friends.”

The Hometown for the Holidays campaign will be promoted to residents through digital advertising, social media, and direct mail marketing.

Rancho Cordova is home to 16 lodging properties with a total of over 2,000 rooms. Properties range from economy hotels to an AAA Four Diamond hotel. While corporate business drives much of the midweek occupancy, sports tourism, leisure, and other segments comprise much of the weekend business.

In addition to the many events in the region, including rowing events at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center and the California Capital Airshow, sports tourism will be an area of focus for the organization.

Rancho Cordova Travel & Tourism is a Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID), and as such, is funded through an assessment on hotel room nights. The organization, which was formed by agreement of hoteliers and a City of Rancho Cordova resolution in 2011, is governed by a board of directors comprised of hoteliers, a representative from the City of Rancho Cordova, and a representative from the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce.
