On Monday, the Cordova High School girls golf team started the process to compete in the post-season by competing at the Sierra Valley Conference tournament.
Competing at the Teal Bend Golf Course, par 72, the Lady Lancers finished the tourney with a fourth place finish as a team. Cordova head coach Mark Gribskov was proud how his linkers battled on the course that was still wet and muddy from last weekend’s rainstorms.
On top of their finish, three Lancers qualified for the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV Tournament that will take place this Monday at the Ranch Del Ray Golf Club in Atwater. Leading the way were Angela Jones and Kearry Lopez, each of whom fired a 101. Next was Mackailee Lawrence at 119.
In addition, Jones and Lopez earned all-SVC honors. They led Cordova as its top two scorers throughout most of the season.
