Underclassmen Deliver for Lady Lancers Soccer

For a third time in three games, the Cordova High girls soccer team recorded another win.

The victim, this time, was Sheldon, in Tuesday’s non-conference home game at Lancers Stadium. The Lady Lancers pulled through with a 1-0 victory over the Huskies. The Lancers’ lone goal came in the first half.

In its second home game on Monday, Cordova (3-0-1) jumped out to an 8-0 halftime lead.

Leading the way in scoring for the Lancers were two underclassmen in freshman Annette Medina and sophomore Shelby Konarshi; both scored two goals each. Additional Cordova player who scored a goal each in the game were Charlotte Perez, Maria Vigil, Adrienne Hammond, Gabby Maduri, Amella Alvarado and Annalise Tate.

Hosting the Spartans, also at Lancers Stadium on Dec. 1st, Cordova scored all of its goals in the first 40 minutes of the game. Medina and Hammond scored two goals each.

Today, Friday, Cordova will host West Campus in another non-conference game.

Next Monday, the Lady Lancers continue their pre-season schedule with a contest at Capital Christian. Then on Tuesday, Cordova welcomes Edison of Stockton. On Thursday, Dec. 15th, the Lancers host Elk Grove.

Cordova has two more non-conference games before Christmas.
