RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Two days of carnival rides, music, food and fireworks kick off Tuesday, July 3 as the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Celebration kicks rolls into high gear for Rancho Cordova’s biggest community bash.
Gates open at 4 p.m. on July 3 and noon on July 4 for two great days of fun.  Admission is $2 and parking is $10.
July 3 features a focus on the 15th Birthday of the City of Rancho Cordova.  The City is celebrating by sharing free LED wristbands synched up to concerts and fireworks shows, great on-stage performances and the return of a favorite Fourth of July attraction for all ages:  the Lorikeet Encounter.  All festival events will be open on July 3 from 4-11 p.m.  The Happy Birthday Fireworks show features a choreographed show set to favorite birthday music.
July 4 features a long and busy schedule with the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Parade at 10 a.m., which travels down Coloma Road before turning down Chase Drive.  The parade will feature an astounding eight high school marching bands, all competing for cash prizes and bragging rights, sure to make for a great show.
The action in Hagan Park begins at noon when the gates open for another full day of activities which wrap up with the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, the most artfully planned fireworks show in the region, all synched up to thousands of LED wristbands in the audience for what promises to be a stunning sight. Visitors can pick up their LED wristbands beginning at 4 p.m. each day while supplies last.
Free Kids Zone attractions include pony rides, petting zoo, Lorikeet encounter, Aerial Assault trampoline show, Crocker Art Museum Art Ark, military exhibits, archery tag, game truck, laser tag and more.
The California Carnival Company returns with favorite rides and games, and the Sacramento Cornhole Association will host their first-ever Fourth of July Cornhole tournament.  There is something for everyone, organizers promised.
The Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Celebration, now in its 34th year, will attract 25,000 visitors to Hagan Park over the two days.  The event is produced by the Cordova Community Council and an army of volunteers.  For full details and information, visit www.ranchocordovajuly4th.com
