RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - The City of Rancho Cordova celebrated its 15th birthday over the 4th of July holiday. From the annual parade to a two-day festival at Hagan Park full of games, great food, vendors, a petting zoo, and capped with music and fireworks, the weekend was yet another success for the city and community.

It was the city’s 34th annual Independence Day parade, this year featuring a youth marching band competition that showcased seven different bands. The bands competed hard for a $5,000 prize. 10,000 people were estimated to be on hand to witness the parade that started at Coloma Rd and stretched for 1.5 miles.

Capping off the festivities, an estimated 30,000 people attended the holiday’s grand finale fireworks show. The 22-minute show was synced to music and fired off over 1,000 shells for the crowd. The city also handed out special wristbands that lit up to the show. It was a fitting end to the two-day celebration.
