RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Outfitted with a newly resurfaced swimming pool, fresh walkways and a 5-piece par course, Lincoln Village Community Park’s enhancements encourage park-goers to celebrate. The timing is perfect too. On July 20th, the park will host Cordova Recreation and Park District’s annual Party in the Park, where the District will also celebrate their 60th Anniversary.
The Lincoln Village Park Pool renovation was completed in May. The pool was re-plastered, new tiles were installed and updated drains were added. The Re-plaster Project was funded by a grant from the County of Sacramento.
Funded by the District’s My Parks Enhancement Fund, formerly known as Measure J, the Walkway Replacement Project replaced all asphalt pathways in the park with new accessible concrete sidewalks.
And perhaps the most exciting addition to the park is the par course, an outdoor 5-piece adult fitness course installed on resilient safety surfacing. The course is perfect for individuals that prefer a more relaxed and social atmosphere, or for those wanting to exercise while accompanying children to the park. The Par Course Project was made possible with both a Community Enhancement Fund grant from the City of Rancho Cordova and the District’s My Parks Enhancement Fund.
Check out these wonderful enhancements, and while you are there, join Cordova Recreation and Park District to celebrate 60 years at the Party in the Park. With live music, vendors, a 60th Anniversary Photo Gallery, lots of activities for kids of all ages, free swimming (5:30-7:30 p.m.), and a wine and beer garden, the park is ready to put on a party for the whole community!
