RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - The Folsom Cordova Unified School District Board of Education on Thursday, Sept. 26 honored the Cordova High School staff, nurses, and regional first-responders who recently saved the life of a tenth-grade student.

On the morning of Aug. 29, Cordova High School sophomore Sunn Carson collapsed during class. School nurses and the Rancho Cordova Police Officer assigned to the campus immediately began CPR, but the student was unresponsive as Sacramento Metro Regional Fire crews rushed him to the UC Davis Medical Center.

After his stunning recovery during several days in the hospital, it was learned that Sunn had a previously undetected medical condition. Doctors believe he would not be alive today had it not been for the heroics of Cordova High’s first responders
