RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - On September 7, the City of Rancho Cordova dedicated the City Hall Atrium to Dan Skoglund, a Rancho Cordova City Councilmember who passed away in 2017.

“We miss our friend dearly. Dan was a kind and genuine individual. He had a strong passion for the Rancho Cordova community, and he played a vital role in our city’s future,” said Councilmember David Sander, PhD.

Dan moved to Rancho Cordova in 1975 and was very involved in the community. He served as a president for many organizations, including the Rancho Cordova Rotary Club, the Cordova Community Council, the Active 20/30 Club, and the Sacramento Chapter of the Professional Moving Association. In addition, Dan was a member and Vice Chair of the city’s first Planning Commission.

Dan was extremely proud of his family, including his wife Pam, his two sons and their wives, and his grandson. Dan’s family was in attendance for the dedication of the Daniel W. Skoglund Atrium, including a new grandson, where he was fondly remembered by them, as well as by friends and colleagues.

“We are very proud of Dan and all of his accomplishments, and we want to thank the city for this special honor,” said Pam Skoglund.
