Parents Call for More School Choice in District

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) – In the Folsom Cordova Unified School District, more than 700 children have only one middle school option. District-wide, three-quarters of the children are not meeting benchmarks for math and language arts.

New Pacific School is partnering with parents in Rancho Cordova to respond to a growing need –a free public school that goes above and beyond to provide holistic, personalized education to every child. New Pacific School focuses on child-centered, social-emotional learning in a small school environment.

The public charter school proposal backed by education leaders Pacific Charter Institute, has applied to the Rancho Cordova School Board to open more school options for Rancho Cordova families in the fall of 2022.

In appreciation for the support parents have shown for the new charter option and to show the district that the community wants more school choice, New Pacific School is planning a free, taco-themed party in front of the next Folsom Cordova Unified School District Board Meeting.

Dubbed "Let's taco 'bout school choice," the party is open to community members interested in supporting additional school choice options in the Folsom Cordova Unified school district.
