City Launches Free Workforce Development Programs

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - The City of Rancho Cordova is investing $1.5 million into its local workforce to provide FREE educational and training opportunities to Rancho Cordova residents who are unemployed, underemployed or want to upskill to compete for higher wage jobs. The city’s new Workforce Development Programs offer six no-cost ways for residents to develop their skills.

“Workforce training offers our residents a way to develop their professional skills to compete in today’s job market,” said Economic Development Manager Amanda Norton. “Through these free programs, residents will have the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills to help get a promotion, a raise, or start a new career.”

Through the programs, qualifying Rancho Cordova residents will:

Learn what it takes to gain the knowledge and skills to help get a promotion, a raise, or start a new career; Earn training, education, and certifications help prepare for a career in technology and other fields; Receive mentoring, as well as resume, portfolio building and job placement support

All of these programs are FREE to qualifying Rancho Cordova residents thanks to support from the city’s Community Enhancement & Investment Fund.
