Rancho Cordova Mayor Wants End to Meetings Held Online

Mayor Donald Terry announced his intention to return to a more normal setting for future meetings during a Special Meeting and city budget workshop held on August 23rd.
“My assumptions are that the way we are handling (these) workshops is probably never going to happen again,” Terry announced. “Trying to run these (meetings) by Zoom and online doesn’t lend itself to the kind of format that we used to have.”
Mayor Terry announced during the workshop hosted on Zoom and online that meetings that took place in public, in Rancho Cordova City Council chambers, had a lot more “give and take” in the public debate over how taxpayer dollars are used and allocated. He believes that a return to traditional meetings will encourage more input from Rancho Cordova residents.
Terry’s comments came during a budget workshop that focused on city spending priorities for the next fiscal year and through 2025.
