RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - The City of Rancho Cordova released its Community Enhancement & Investment Fund Citizen Report for Fiscal Year 2021/2022. The annual Citizen Report illustrates the many projects funded to enhance the Rancho Cordova community and invest in opportunities for residents and businesses.

More than 70 projects were selected for funding during the fiscal year to support key community priority areas, including public safety, public works/infrastructure, community-driven programs, community & economic development, and other community priorities.

The Community Enhancement & Investment Fund is supported by both Measure H and R, which are half-cent, sales tax measures approved by voters in 2014 and 2020. During the fiscal year, the fund is estimated to have generated approximately $23.6 million in sales tax revenue. The city began receiving additional Measure R revenue during the fiscal year and expanded funding in certain priority areas.

Two milestone projects highlighted in the report include the $8 million Mills Middle School Softball Complex that opened in March and the $8.4 million Rancho Cordova Youth Center that opened in November, which were brought to life in collaboration with community partners. In addition, the report featured a $3.75 million investment in COVID-19 pandemic response and recovery programs to support local businesses.

“The City of Rancho Cordova takes great pride in serving Rancho Cordova through stewardship of the Community Enhancement & Investment Fund and in providing the Citizen Report each year,” said City Manager Micah Runner. “Thanks to the fund, we have supported hundreds of projects, programs and events that continue to make our city a great place to live, work, learn and play.”

The Citizen Report was mailed to Rancho Cordova residents in mid-January. To read the Citizen Report and learn more about the fund, visit CityofRanchoCordova.org/CommunityEnhancementInvestmentFund.
