RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - During the last week of March, Vice Mayor David Sander represented the City of Rancho Cordova at the National League of Cities (NLC) Congressional Conference in Washington, DC. The NLC advocates for and protects the interests of cities, towns and villages across the country by influencing federal policy, strengthening local leadership, and driving innovative solutions.

As 1st Vice President of the NLC, Vice Mayor Sander was front and center as local leaders from across the country met to learn about and discuss pressing issues, such as housing, jobs, workforce development, food insecurity, rail safety, broadband access and more. Among many speakers, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden addressed the group of over 3,000 local leaders, stressing the importance of education. Vice Mayor Sander moderated a panel on the federal budget and represented cities across the country at a press conference.

“I was honored to represent the City of Rancho Cordova and to work on behalf of all 19,000+ cities, towns and villages all across America. We are all stronger together as we educate ourselves, share great ideas, and work with Members of Congress and Federal agencies on public safety, housing issues, economic development, local control, transportation and much more,” said Vice Mayor Sander.

In 2024, Vice Mayor Sander will be named President of the NLC and will lead both the NLC’s 2024 Congressional and City Conferences.
