Cordova Cross Country Athletes Shine in Recognition Ceremony

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - The Cordova cross country team took center stage at the Folsom Cordova Unified School District, as several outstanding athletes were celebrated for their remarkable achievements in the 2023 season.

Leading the pack in the 1st Team All-League category were junior talents Stephany Santana (Girls League Champion), Marissa Santos-Vargas, Juliet Coutinho, and freshman standout Amelia Nunn. Senior Daniel Insco (Runner-up League Champion), along with juniors Justus Ramirez and Ezekiel Konay, showcased their prowess, earning well-deserved spots on the prestigious list.

Not to be outdone, the 2nd Team All-League members added to the glory. Francheska Escobar and Evan Adair, both seniors, demonstrated their skill alongside junior powerhouses Micah Fennel, Quinten Marks, and Ma’Shayla Carter. Freshman Charli Ramirez-Oliva rounded out this impressive assembly of Cordova’s cross country talent.

The ceremony highlighted not only their All-League distinctions but also acknowledged their exceptional performances in CIF Sub-Section and CIF Sections, reaffirming Cordova’s standing as a force to be reckoned with in the realm of cross country athletics.

The discipline and dedication that all of these student-athletes demonstrated this season proved that they are the backbone to Cordova athletics at Cordova High School. They have paved the way for generations to come, and their legacy has been stamped in Cordova cross country history books.
