FOLSOM, CA (MPG) - Sutter Street Theatre proudly announces its upcoming production of The Reluctant Dragon, adapted by Mary Hall Surface from the beloved story by Kenneth Grahame. Directed by Haley McDaniel, with Assistant Director Brandon Newey and Vocal Direction by Heather Clark, the production runs from May 10 through June 8, with performances on Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. (no performance on Sunday, May 25). The show is rated G and suitable for all ages.
Originally acclaimed in national productions, this adaptation tells the story of a gentle, poetry-loving dragon wrongly blamed by the villagers of Guildermere for their misfortunes. When the legendary Saint George arrives, the dragon and his brave young friend, Glaston, must confront not only the threat of battle, but the deeper challenge of confronting prejudice and fear. The play remains faithful to the spirit of Grahame’s original while offering a powerful message about understanding and peace.
