RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) – More than 700 community members gathered at Hagen Community Park from 3 to 7 p.m. June 13 to celebrate the fifth annual Juneteenth in Rancho Cordova. The afternoon was filled with music, dance, culture and community connection.
Hosted by Folsom Cordova Community Partnership, this year’s celebration featured a vibrant lineup of performances, including multiple music bands, African drumming and dance, a step team, hip-hop dance groups and a dynamic set by a local rapper.
Guests also enjoyed the second annual Juneteenth Fashion Show, highlighting local Black designers and models.
Attendees were treated to delicious free food, including barbecue, cookies and ice cream provided by a local caterer, while browsing a bustling marketplace of nearly 30 Black-owned businesses and vendors.
This beloved event was made possible through the generous support of the City of Rancho Cordova, SMUD, First 5 Sacramento, Sacramento County Department of Child, Family and Adult Services, Republic Services and Chase Bank.
Perfect weather and a joyful atmosphere made this year’s Juneteenth a true celebration of freedom, culture and community resilience.
