RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - What are you doing Friday night?

Rancho Cordova residents are invited to grab their lawn chairs, lace up their dancing shoes and head to Village Green Park for a full month of free Friday Night Concerts, kicking off Aug. 1. The annual series, now in its 10th year, is hosted by the Cordova Community Council in collaboration with the Cordova Recreation and Park District.

“Our Summer Series has become as much a part of a Rancho Cordova summer as floating down the American River,” according to the Cordova Community Council website. “This is a series of free Friday nights out that will keep you happily entertained throughout the summer. We rock the month of August away during our Friday Night Concerts. Be sure to wear your dancing shoes.”

On Aug. 8, White Water will take the stage with a setlist spanning classic rock to modern pop. Attendees can enjoy food from Bangin' Bowls Latin Fusion, Bangin' Churro Bar and Sweet Treats.

On Aug. 15, Neon Playboys will bring funk, soul and rock and roll dance hits from the ’70s and ’80s. Food options include The Fry Boys, Sweet Treats and Daisy’s Desserts.

On Aug. 22, Ariel Jean will perform a night of crowd-pleasing country music. The evening food trucks will be Buckhorn, Charennay’s Treat Factory and Sweet Treats.

Cordova Community Council Executive Director Shelly Blanchard said the concerts are a beloved tradition for the community.

“What’s a better way to start off the weekend in Rancho Cordova than hanging out with neighbors and friends?” Blanchard said. “This is our 10th year of Friday Night Concerts at Village Green. It's one of our favorites: laid back, good music, fun food and great friends. If you're looking for something fun to do, grab some lawn chairs and join us.”
