RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - The Cordova Lancers football program is hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser on Aug. 23 inside the football stadium.
The event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and all proceeds will help support the entire football program for the upcoming season. Food, drinks and music will be provided, and tickets will be available at the gate or from any Lancers football player prior to the event.
Adult tickets will cost $15, with children and seniors tickets costing $10. The Kiwanis Club of Rancho Cordova will prepare and serve the food and all football program members will be in attendance to help support and participate in a meet and greet.
The Lancers football program released a statement to reflect the importance of community support during the upcoming fundraiser, saying "The Cordova High Lancer football team exemplifies dedication not only to the sport but also their community and school. Committed to being leaders both on and off the field, the Lancers actively engage in community service initiatives, fostering a spirit of teamwork and responsibility. They prioritize the development of student athletes, ensuring that academic success and personal growth come first. Currently, we are fundraising for essential resources including camps, tackling equipment and technology to record and analyze game film. These tools are critical to improving performance, enhancing safety, and preparing our athletes to compete at their highest level."
Additionally, Lancers junior varsity head coach Joel Wallace provided insight into what the program hopes to achieve through its fundraising efforts.
"We really want our players to connect with the community and this fundraiser is a great way for them to do that. It also helps support team dinners before games where we incorporate motivational speakers and leadership development,” Wallace said. “Additional funding allows us to offer unique opportunities like specialized training camps. The more support we receive, the more we can provide for our athletes."
Family members, friends and supporters alike are all encouraged to attend. Feel free to reach out to football program members for more information.
