Soroptimist Club Seeks Award Applicants

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Soroptimist International of Rancho Cordova and Gold River is now accepting applications for the Live Your Dream Award (formerly known as the Women’s Opportunity Award).

Application forms are available online at soroptimistranchocordova.org/live-your-dream-award. The

application portal is linked to the website and application tips are also available to help write a compelling application. Applications must be submitted to the website no later than Nov. 15.

The Live Your Dream Award provides women, who serve as the primary wage earner for their family, with the financial resources to offset costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education or additional skills and training.

This cash award can be used for tuition, books, childcare, transportation, food, electricity bills, childcare, gasoline or any other education-related expense. This program, which begins on the club level, was created in 1972 to help women improve their ability to provide for their families.

Applicants for this award do not have to reside within Rancho Cordova, Gold River or Carmichael city limits. However, applicants can only apply to one club. The minimum cash prize is $250 and it could go as high as $1,500. Soroptimist is an international nonprofit organization that seeks to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
