RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Beware the full moon and listen for the howls because the Rancho Cordova River City Concert Band is conjuring up a frightfully fun evening of music at its outdoor Halloween spectacular, “Monsters in the Moonlight.”

On Oct. 4 at 6:15 p.m., the band will haunt the stage just outside Heartstoppers Haunted House at The Mine Shaft (2300 Mine Shaft Lane, Rancho Cordova).

Admission to the musical performance is free but does not include admission to Heartstoppers. All ages are welcome to this spooktacular community event.

Under the baton of Music Director Tom Seaton, the band will perform a ghoulishly good lineup of Halloween favorites guaranteed to make your bones rattle and your spirits soar. Audiences will thrill (and maybe shriek) to classics such as “Monster Mash,” “Werewolves of London,” “Thriller,” “The Time Warp,” “The Munsters,” and a hair-raising medley of Danny Elfman’s film music, “Music For A Darkened Theater.”

And that’s just the tip of the tombstone; there are plenty more eerie surprises lurking in the program!

The Rancho Cordova River City Concert Band is a nonprofit organization made up of approximately 60 volunteer musicians who donate their time and musical talents to present concerts with a broad audience appeal.

The band’s motto is “Love Music. Share Music. Make Music.”

Their love of music is what brings them together and it is the band’s desire to share music before audiences of diverse backgrounds, foster musical interest among children and provide performance opportunities for skilled community musicians.

The band strives to provide a rich social environment to those seeking enrichment through making music with other adult musicians and the community.

So grab your capes, costumes, and cauldrons, and join us for a fang-tastic evening of monstrous melodies under the moonlight.

Whether you’re a little ghost, a groovy ghoul or just a music-loving mortal, this free concert is sure to be a graveyard smash.
