Folsom Cordova Adult School Honors ESL Students for Academic Progress and Community Service

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Nearly 400 English as a Second Language students at Folsom Cordova Adult School were recognized for their academic achievement and community involvement during recognition assemblies held May 6.
According to information provided by Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD), the celebrations highlighted students’ progress in developing English language skills while also recognizing their contributions to the community through volunteerism, workforce development and peer support.

More than 40 students received special recognition for volunteer service throughout the region. Their efforts included supporting the Rancho Cordova Rotary Corps, assisting at community events organized by the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership, including its biannual job fair and participating in paraeducator training programs.
In addition to serving the broader community, students also helped fellow learners within the adult school. Volunteers supported literacy development in high school completion and beginning English language classes, helping classmates strengthen foundational reading, writing and communication skills.

School administrators said the annual recognition assemblies celebrate not only academic milestones but also the positive impact students are making beyond the classroom. Through volunteer service, mentorship and community engagement, ESL students have become active contributors to programs that support education, workforce readiness and community connections across the region.
