RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Rancho Cordova's Public Works Department is moving forward with several infrastructure projects this summer aimed at improving roadways, enhancing neighborhood safety and upgrading community aesthetics.

Construction is currently underway on Phase One of the Mather Field Road Improvement Project along the east side of Mather Field Road, just north of the westbound U.S. 50 off-ramp. The project includes widened sidewalks, new landscaping, an upgraded decorative wall and a pergola entry feature at Croydon Drive. Work began in March and is expected to be completed in summer 2026.

Additional neighborhood improvements are scheduled to begin later this summer through the city's Neighborhood Traffic Management Program. Phases Seven and Eight will bring traffic-calming measures to Bridlewood Drive, Borderlands Drive, Canyonlands Drive and White Rock Road. The improvements are designed to reduce vehicle speeds and enhance safety for residents, pedestrians and cyclists. Construction is anticipated to begin in mid- to late summer.

The city will also launch the South White Rock Road and Stone Creek Surface Treatment Project as part of its ongoing effort to maintain and improve neighborhood streets. The project includes pavement repairs, roadway surface treatments, updated striping and bike lane markings, and other safety enhancements intended to improve driving conditions and extend pavement life.
