RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - The Rancho Cordova community is proving that summer adventures don't have to mean traveling far from home. Visit Rancho Cordova's “Summer of Shenanigans” photo challenge is bringing residents and regional visitors together to discover local favorites, uncover hidden gems, and make new memories all across the city.

Since the campaign launched on June 1, participants have enthusiastically embraced the challenge by visiting scenic trails, restaurants, attractions, public art exhibits, local businesses and featured events throughout Rancho Cordova. Along the way, they have shared more than 500 photos, collected more than 300 badges and earned more than 200 raffle entries as they check off activities and explore everything the community has to offer.

One of the most rewarding parts of the campaign has been watching the community connect through the online leaderboard. Participants have filled the activity feed with cheerful photos, personal recommendations and glowing testimonials about the places they have visited, often for the very first time.

Participant Arena Rivas shared their experience at Dao Distillery, writing, “Dao Distillery is SUCH a cute distillery. The owner was so nice and gave us a tour of the back, explaining the whole process. We did a tasting of the spirits and it was so fun. Definitely check it out!”

Another participant, Alisa Butler, raved about one of Rancho Cordova's favorite annual traditions.

“I love the Cordova Community Council's 4th of July Festival! It was just like the fair but right in our backyard,” said Butler.

These first-hand experiences reflect what Summer of Shenanigans is all about: discovering new places, celebrating local traditions, supporting small businesses and seeing Rancho Cordova through fresh eyes. Families are turning weekends into adventures; friends are planning outings together and visitors from around the region are finding new reasons to spend the day in Rancho Cordova.

It’s not too late to join the fun and earn raffle points. The “Summer of Shenanigans” photo challenge continues through Aug. 31, and you can still sign up to play for free. Every adventure is an opportunity to discover something new while supporting the local community.

Getting started is easy. Head to VisitRanchoCordova.com/Summer to sign up and begin exploring.

Check in to as many activities as you would like to earn raffle entries for a chance to win exciting giveaways.
