RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Warm summer evenings in Rancho Cordova will once again come alive with music as the Cordova Community Council's Friday Night Concerts return to Village Green Park throughout August.

The free concert series kicks off Aug. 7 and continues every Friday through Aug. 28, offering live entertainment, food trucks and an opportunity for neighbors to gather in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

“Friday Night Concerts have become a staple for a Rancho Cordova summer,” said Cordova Community Council Events Specialist Taylor Haven. “Each week is an opportunity to bring friends and family and get to know your neighbors and community with a great soundtrack.”

Concerts begin at 7 p.m. at Village Green Park, 3141 Bridgeway Drive, while food trucks open at 6:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the performances in the park's amphitheater.

This year's lineup features Class of 85 on Aug. 7, Neon Playboys on Aug. 14, Adam Aldama & the Aces on Aug. 21, and Mercy Me Band on Aug. 28.

Organizers said each concert offers a different musical experience along with a rotating selection of food vendors serving dinner, desserts and treats. Participating vendors throughout the series include Wing Man, Buckhorn BBQ, Gyro Stop, Mini Donut Shack, Bubble Hive, Sweet Treats, Build a Sundae, Dub-ya-bees and Cowtown Creamery. The weekly food truck schedule is available on the council's social media pages and is subject to change.

“There is something for everyone, from kids to kids at heart,” said Haven.

The event has continued to grow over the years as more residents have embraced it as an affordable way to spend a summer evening.

“We love seeing families, date nights, coworkers, friends and neighbors getting together to see their favorite band, or find a new favorite," said Haven. “We hope our guests leave full from our food trucks and tired from dancing all night long, ready to come back next week.”

Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early for parking and food. Pets are not permitted due to the size and noise level of the event, but all ages are welcome.
