RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Documentary films from around the world will be featured in Rancho Cordova during the fourth annual California Capital International Documentary Film Festival, scheduled for Aug. 8-9.

The festival will showcase 30 short- and feature-length documentaries from 15 countries at three venues: Rancho Cordova City Hall, the Rancho Cordova Youth Center and Fat Elephant Theatre in Historic Folsom.

Organizers said the festival is the region's only event dedicated exclusively to documentary filmmaking. This year's program includes films covering topics such as history, music, travel, science, sports, culture, the environment, social issues and human-interest stories.

The festival is organized by the Rancho Cordova Film Office, the official film office for the City of Rancho Cordova, with support from the city's Community Enhancement and Investment Fund Grant Program.

Now in its fourth year, the festival has expanded its international reach by attracting filmmakers and documentary submissions from around the world. In addition to film screenings, the event provides opportunities for audiences to engage with filmmakers and explore a variety of real-world topics through documentary storytelling.
