For years, one of the biggest challenges in youth and high school sports hasn’t been getting families interested.It’s been getting them connected.

Where do I sign up? What sports are available? Who do I contact? What if registration is beyond my budget? Where do coaches find resources?

And maybe the biggest question: Where do I find all of it in one place?

Today, RCAA has an answer. RCAASports.com is live.

This isn’t simply a new coat of paint on an old website. We built something deeper and easier, designed around how parents, athletes, coaches, and our community use sports information.

RCAASports.com was built to become the digital home of Cordova athletics — a place where parents can discover a sport, athletes can find opportunities, coaches can find tools, and the community can see just how much is happening in Cordova sports.

Shelly Blanchard, one of RCAA’s founders and longtime Cordova Community Council Executive Director, puts it this way:

“If you have kids ready to take the field today or simply want to see what’s happening in youth sports in our city, visit RCAASports.com. It offers incredible variety, depth and opportunities for young athletes throughout Rancho Cordova. It puts those opportunities right at your fingertips.”

There is depth here. Not just what RCAA does, but why do we do it. Not just registration links, but pathways. Not just programs, but resources. And not just information for athletes, but tools for the adults entrusted with developing them.

COACHES: WE BUILT SOMETHING FOR YOU, TOO.
Getting every coach into the same room at the same time proved nearly impossible. So, we moved the room online.

The Coaches Learning Lab is an always-available resource center with pre-practice and pre-game team talks, leadership tools, RCAA documents, development resources, and practical coaching material.

Over the last 20 years, I’ve given hundreds of sports talks from rebounding after failure to managing the ego when success arrives. Coaches still call and ask, “What would you say before this game? Or do you have a talk for this post-game?”

Now they can find those talks by topic or game situation. I drop my notes into the engine, and it turns the main points into a downloadable team talk a coach can use.

Cordova Youth Hoops Director Ethan Nguyen sees the value: “What impressed me wasn't just how much information is there. It's the depth. You can tell this was built to be used, not just looked at. And with our site connected, it just got easier for families to find us.”

FCUSD District Athletic Director Maroon points to another benefit: “There are tools here that can save a coach time. Instead of searching everywhere, RCAA puts it in one place. For years, we’ve collected Character Combine coaching content. Now it’s at our fingertips.”

BUILT FOR THE FAMILY WHO DOESN’T KNOW WHERE TO START
We didn't design RCAASports.com for people who already know everything about sports in Cordova. We designed it for the family that doesn't.

Maybe Mom didn't grow up playing sports. Maybe Dad doesn't know the difference between recreation, competitive, and travel teams. Maybe their child comes home and announces: “I want to play volleyball.”

Great. Now what? Find the sport. Understand the opportunity. Know the cost. Learn about financial assistance. Get connected. Sports should have a front door. RCAASports.com is ours.

GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE
The site was intentionally built for exploration. Find a new sport. Read about Serve2Save. Visit the Coaches Learning Lab. Explore our facility work. Discover programs you didn't know existed.

Jennifer Nezbeth, a cheer mom and league volunteer, did exactly that: “I went on looking for one thing and 20 minutes later I was still clicking. There's a lot here, and more importantly, there's a lot here that's useful.”

Rancho Cordova Sports Hall of Fame Chairman Mike Marando discovered another layer: “This feels bigger than a sports website. It shows parents and coaches the entire ecosystem being built around Cordova athletes.”

And then there are Easter Eggs. More than 20 are hidden throughout the site. Find them and, well... the experience gets enhanced.
