RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - The Cordova Recreation & Park District (District) was recognized with an Influence award for its “Our Year of Impact” campaign at the 2026 Public Relations Society of America California Capital Chapter (PRSA CCC) Influence Awards.
The annual Influence Awards showcase the talent, innovation and storytelling power of Sacramento’s public relations and communications professionals. The District’s “Our Year of Impact” campaign received a top honor earning over 90 points on a 100-point scale for the External/Community Relations Campaigns category.
Launched in 2025, “Our Year of Impact” was developed to strengthen public understanding of how District resources, programs and partnerships create meaningful benefit for community members. The campaign brought together three complementary components to make the District's achievements more accessible and relevant. These components included a Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR), a social media video series and a volunteer recognition event.

The campaign began through conversations with the District’s Chief Financial Officer regarding the development of the District’s first PAFR and expanded beyond financial reporting to demonstrate the people and stories behind the numbers.
The District is grateful for this recognition and proud to see its work celebrated alongside so many dedicated communications professionals making an impact throughout the Sacramento region.
