RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) – Families with young children have a new Friday activity at the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub.

“Story Time @ The Hub” is now being held every Friday from 11:15 a.m. to noon at the Community Food Hub, 2771 Don Juan Drive.

The program is designed for children ages 5 and younger accompanied by a parent or caregiver and includes stories, songs, movement and other activities aimed at encouraging early literacy and family engagement.

“This new program is made possible through the First 5 California grant supporting nutrition education and engagement for children under 5,” the Hub said in a statement. “A huge thank you to Jenica Williams for donating a box of children's books to our Kids Corner to help make Story Time possible!”

Along with reading, Story Time is intended to give parents and caregivers an opportunity to participate in activities with their children in a relaxed community setting.
